Our Family.

  • Vintner, Winemaker, Vineyard Manager, CEO, CFO, COO, EIEIO, WINO, & Janitor

Squire and Suzy first sold the grapes they grew to local wineries, but after a few years of following around some incredible local winemaker mentors, Squire began to try his own hand at winemaking, and found out he was pretty good at it. Having spent over 30 years farming the same Estate vineyards, he knows the vines as if they were his children, and makes wine the way he and Suzy like it: lush, fruit-forward, and full of personality.

If Squire's face looks vaguely familiar, it's because he was one of the most successful actors ever in television commercials. Since 1970, he performed as principal on-camera talent in over 3,400 television commercials and about twice that many television and radio voice-overs. No matter where you might be living in the USofA, he was most likely in your living room more than once trying to sell you something (and now he’s selling you wine). He was the on-camera spokesman for Toyota (1978-2012) and from 1984 until 1991 you might have spotted him on TV wearing a funny yellow and red outfit chasing "The Hamburglar" around McDonaldland!

Squire starred in twelve television pilots (mostly short lived), five big screen features (mostly unmemorable ones), and starred/guest-starred in a whole bunch of TV shows over the years. He has been on the cover of TV GUIDE, was once “#1 Across” in the crossword puzzle of Daily Variety, and was photo-featured in NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE.

Squire is also the author of four published plays, a screenplay (that was almost made into a movie) and wrote the definitive commercial acting text, ACTING IN TELEVISION COMMERCIALS FOR FUN AND PROFIT, now in its Fourth Edition.

Squire made the segue from actor/director to winemaker/vineyard manager gradually over the years, oft times wearing more than one hat, but it was a very smooth transition. “Same Greek God” as Squire is wont to say…

  • Vintner, Taste Tester, Pairing Director, Creative Idea Person, Dancing Queen.

Suzy was a world traveler in her twenties, exposed to cultures (and wines) from all over the globe. When she and Squire first met, she was the one who introduced him to the world of wine, igniting a passion for both of them.

After graduating from UCLA with a BA in Dance, she moved to NYC to study with the famous choreographers Alwin Nikolais and Murray Louis. Three months later she packed her bags for her first European Tour. She continued with the company for nine years, performing in twelve foreign tours and over forty US tours.

Since she and Squire moved to Glen Ellen, Suzy has spent a zillion hours fund raising for local schools, campaigning for school bonds, and volunteering just about everywhere. She and Squire were both awarded “Volunteers of the Year in Education” for all of Sonoma County. Suzy choreographed and performed for many years with a gaggle of fellow Vintner gals in the “Magnum Force” at the annual Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Wine Auction, raising funds for local charities.

If you’re in a blind tasting with her, she will probably win.

  • Wine Club Manager, Marketing & Social Media, Recycling & Composting Fanatic, & Former Cellar Rat

Lexy has always had a discerning palate and interest in the wine business, and, called by her passion to continue her family’s dream, she decided to rip off the bandaid off and transition to work full time for GlenLyon in 2018, after the 2017 Nuns fire nearly took out the vineyards and winery.

In her former career, Lexy graduated with honors with a BFA in Acting & Musical Theatre from the prestigious School of Drama at Carnegie Mellon University. She then moved to New York City to pursue theatre. Among her numerous credits, she created the role of “Dory” in FINDING NEMO THE MUSICAL for Disney and performed in the Tony Award winning musical AVENUE Q (both with the first National Touring Company and then in the NYC show). She also starred as “Chairry” (yes, the lovable plush blue armchair) in the PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY and HBO, and voiced Chairry for SNL on NBC. How many people can say they played a lovable plush blue armchair on Broadway?

She now holds the title of GlenLyon Wine Club Manager and Marketing Director, but likes to get her hands dirty in the winery during harvest and winemaking. Her passion lies in Sparkling Wine, and she is the Vintner of Lexy’s Toast Sparking wines. Lexy married her husband Graham here at GlenLyon in 2016. Our family is complete with preschooler Hattie, and identical twin baby girls Piper + Phoebe.
