Past Clan Notes
GlenLyon Clan Notes - Summer 2003
We're still pouring our wine in "The Best Damn Tasting Room in the Valley!" right across from Kenwood Winery on the corner of Hwy 12 and Warm Springs Road. We're one of six wineries in the tasting room, we all pour each other's wines and have a lot of fun...particularly on Saturdays when all the winemakers are pouring. If you're in the area, and you'd like to know which days Squire's working (we all alternate), just call the us @ (707) 833-0032 and we'll let you know. Come on down!

Our fourth Syrah release to date, the new 2001 GlenLyon Estate Syrah, is now available and is getting rave reviews by everyone including our Clan! Every grape came from the vines at GlenLyon and made into wine on the Estate. We aged it here, cellared it here and even stored it here. The wine is elegant, feminine, supple and harmonious with overtones of red raspberries, vanilla, almond and cassis with, what we feel, is a perfect balance of fruit, tannin and alcohol. (It's definitely GlenLyon's most "Dangerous" Syrah to date. "Dangerous" because you'll find yourself staring at an empty bottle before you know it!) There was less produced in this vintage than last and it will sell out sooner rather than later....

We just finished bottling 207 cases of our 2002 Hog Wilde Chardonnay and 90 half-bottle cases of our new Estate Syrah Port. They are both wonderful wines and, obviously, extremely limited. You Clan Members will get first dibs....

We also just signed a long term contract for five tons of award-winning Chardonnay from Parmelee-Hill Vineyards in Carneros. 2003 will be our first year making Chardonnay from Parmelee-Hill fruit and we're quite excited! You will be too in late 2004!

That's it. May your glass never run dry.
